美国国家档案馆的材料显示他们是远房堂兄弟的关系，不是叔侄关系。叔侄关系是大家的“误解”，因为富兰克林与埃莉诺结婚后成了TR的侄女婿，人们误以为这种叔侄关系是基于血缘，但其实是基于婚姻。TR和富兰克林的共同祖先是本文开头讲到的尼古拉斯，所以他俩之间的血缘关系很远。

我以前看的也是叔侄，但也有一些说是堂弟（cousin)。我有些疑惑，也许是因为西方人对这种远房的亲戚关系的用词不像中国人那么严谨。我再查查，如果叔侄更可信，我会改过来。有一点倒是肯定的，那就是，富兰克林与埃莉诺结婚后就随着埃莉诺叫TR叔叔了。

这点不敢苟同的，只要机关食堂还能买到两块钱的午饭，情人孩子送到西方国家生活、留学，搞特供、官办媒体统一宣传不允许有任何批评、互联网信息封锁，我就不同意它怀有初心哈哈
